Ukulélé
Biographie

Biography
Initially a guitarist, the encounter with the ukulele took place about fifteen years after my studies in ethno-musicology. Its particular sound, its size, its limits, its history, I like everything about it. It is a perfect travel companion, it is discreet, does not take much space but it also likes to play with other instruments.
When I don't teach the ukulele and I don't give workshops here and there, I include it in a children's show, Charivari dans le boui-boui. And I also continue to play the guitar within Mangrove, a band that combines rock energy with tribal repetitive rhythms.

Program
The program for this workshop covers the two musical highways that are song accompaniment and instrumental arranging.
For the song part, we'll work on different rhythmic patterns, and do exercises in voice/accompaniment independence. For the instrumental part, we'll start by playing the melody, seeing how it relates to the chords, and then mixing the two to create a great solo arrangement.
Each piece, whether song or instrumental, will have several parts of varying difficulty, so that we can adapt to everyone's level and taste.
In terms of musical styles, there will be something for everyone: French chanson, jazz, reggae, calypso, Hawaiian music, pop...
Participants are expected to have some basic knowledge of the ukulele. To get an idea of the minimum level required, you can follow the short preparation program on this page: https://www.ukulelepotato.com/cours-stages/
And don't hesitate to ask any questions, the contact address is on the same site.
See you soon!
