Biographies
Elsa Grégoire, née en Belgique, a grandi à la Nouvelle Orléans et vit maintenant en Allemagne. Elle a une passion naturelle pour les langues et l’expression verbale en général. Elle a étudié le violon et le violoncelle et a obtenu par après un Bachelor degree en chant jazz sous la supervision de David Linx au Brussels Royal Conservatory. Elle a participé à de nombreux ateliers avec des artistes tels que Diederik Wissels, Michael Blake, Scott Colley, Tim Berne and Bill Carrothers. Après une année au CNSM de Paris, elle part pour Leipzig (Germany) où elle commence à développer divers projets musicaux, dont celui du groupe “TREMULA”. Le premier album du groupe, pour lequel elle a composé musique et paroles, est sorti en juin 2014 et est intitulé “I Sing Because”.
Elsa est co-fondatrice du collectif a cappella “Brussels Vocal Project” dont le premier album présente une musique originale, expressément composée pour le groupe par certains des plus fameux compositeurs de jazz belges. Le groupe se concentre à présent sur un nouveau projet intitulé “Modern Tales”, qui présentera une musique composée pour les chanteurs par le batteur et compositeur John Hollenbeck.
Ses performances de musique minimaliste (Centre Pompidou, Paris; Maximilian Forum, Munich) and sa prise de position en tant que compositrice et instrumentiste dans son projet solo ELSA reflètent l’ampleur de son intérêt et de ses compétences dans une grande diversité de mondes musicaux. Elsa a obtenu son Master’s degree en 2013 à la Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden et vit à présent à Berlin, où elle est active comme chanteuse, compositrice et professeur.
Programme
Cet automne, le travail de la classe de chant se déroulera comme suit :
- Une matinée avec un échauffement, suivi d’un morceau a capella tous ensemble.
- L’après-midi sera dédié aux cours individuels de 20min chacun.
Attention ! Pour ceux qui désirent travailler sur un morceau à plusieurs voix qu’ils auront préparé en amont (je peux également vous envoyer des suggestions!), vous pouvez « pooler » vos 20min afin d’avoir plus de temps à dédier à ce travail. Pour ceux qui désirent travailler sur un morceau en individuel, n’oubliez pas d’amener un morceau ! Vous devez venir avec l’enregistrement, les paroles et les accords (vous pouvez simplement aller sur un site du type « ultimate-guitar »).
Un dernier mot: un stage est l’occasion de poser vos questions et d’obtenir des clefs concrètes et efficaces pour vous améliorer. Anticipez cette expérience - venez préparés!

Biography
Elsa Grégoire, born in Belgium, brought up in New Orleans, and now living in Germany has a natural passion for languages and the expression with words. She studied the violin, the cello and later obtained her Bachelor's degree in jazz singing with David Linx at the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She participated to many workshops with artists such as Diederik Wissels, Michael Blake, Scott Colley, Tim Berne and Bill Carrothers. After a year at the CNSM of Paris, she moved to Leipzig (Germany) where she started developing various musical projects, including “TREMULA”, for which she has been composing and writing songs. The first album of the band was released in June 2014 and is entitled “I Sing Because”.
She is the co-founder of the a cappella collective "Brussels Vocal Project" which recently recorded an album featuring original music exclusively composed for the band by some of the Belgium's most famous composers. The band is now focusing on their new project entitled "Modern Tales" which features music composed for the singers by American drummer and composer John Hollenbeck.
Performances of minimalistic music (Centre Pompidou, Paris; Maximilian Forum, Munich) and her stand as composer and performer in her solo project ELSA reflect the width of her interest and competence in a large variety of musical worlds. Elsa obtained Master's degree in 2013 at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden and is now living in Berlin where she is active as a singer, composer and teacher.
Program
This fall, the work of the voice class will take place as follows:
- A morning with a warm-up, followed by an a capella piece all together.
- The afternoon will be dedicated to individual lessons of 20min each.
Attention ! For those who wish to work on a piece with several voices that they have prepared beforehand (I can also send you suggestions!), you can "pool" your 20min in order to have more time to dedicate to this work. For those who want to work on a piece individually, don't forget to bring a piece! You have to come with the recording, lyrics and chords (you can just go to an “ultimate-guitar” type site).
A final word: an internship is an opportunity to ask your questions and obtain concrete and effective keys to improve yourself. Anticipate this experience - come prepared!
